
Jorge Garcia was born in Misiones, Argentina. He has always been fascinated of music. When he was 12 years old he started to play the piano and after that, rhythms took his interest and he started playing percussion. He choose to study music at the School of Music in Posadas, Misiones. In 2003 he moved to Buenos Aires to continue his music studies and to have the chance to play with different bands.
His music is influenced by rhythms from different countries; Brasil, Uruguay, Perú, Cuba, Puerto Rico and of course Argentinean folk music.
Jorge has taken lessons with many of the best percussionists today, such as Eliel Lazo, Calixto Oviedo, Yuvisney Aguilar, Eduardo Ramos, Edgar Martinez, Rolando Salgado, Leo Moré, Alejandro Carbajal, and Los rumberos de Cuba among others.
Since 2011 Jorge is living in Gothenburg, Sweden. There he studied a bachelor at the School of Arts in Gothenburg Högskolan för Scen och musik, at Gothenburg University. Since he studied world music, he got the chance to learn about music styles he hadn't played before, for example flamenco, arabic music, Swedish and Bulgarian folk music.
